Linux is a UNIX like operating system original developed by Linus Torvalds and presented to the public in source form in the early 1990’s. Over the years it has developed into a full scale UNIX implementation which is compatible with Open Source standards for application environment support. Linux provides a low cost UNIX implementation for the standard PC.

Designed for general purpose use, this distribution of the popular Linux operating system is an assemblage of various Open Source software products which is useful to the IT professional, student, scientist or Open Source developer.

Linux Antarctica is designed to install on a Pentium Processor from a bootable CDROM.
